Auction Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 10:00  Bidder registration begins at 8:30.

Over 120 vehicles owned by the Louisville - Jefferson County Metro Government will be offered at public auction.  Many of these vehicles were former polices cars with the police vehicle upgrades.  These vehicles have been determined surplus and many will be sold to the highest bidder. 

 ATTENTION: CAB COMPANIES, COON HUNTERS, BIRD HUNTERS, MOVERS, OR JUST ABOUT ANYONE NEEDING A VEHICLE.  We will have several vehicles in good running condition, some vehicles may need major mechanical repair, some will be sold for scrap only.  We will have several trucks with kennel boxs, 2 moving vans with lift gates, several pickup trucks and Crown Victorias.  There is also a couple of small utility trailers.  The condition of the vehicles will be marked on the windshield; running or towed to the sale lot.  All vehicles will be sold in an as-is condition with no warranty, no refunds, and no exchanges.  Buyers must pay Metro Government for their purchases at the conclusion of the auction, payment must be in cash, certified checks, cashier's checks, no personal checks will be accepted.  Due to the nature of this auction vehicles will not be started, no repairs are permitted on the lot and all vehicles must be removed from the lot by 5 PM on Thursday, April 23 or as directed by Metro Government.  There will be no public preview of the vehicles prior to the day of auction, bidder registration/preview begins at 8:30 auction begins at 10:00.

Nearly every vehicle will have title & keys, but some vehicles may be sold for parts or salvage only and titles may not be obtained for some vehicles.

Some vehicles may be withdrawn from the auction inventory at the discretion of the Metro Government.

  1. Titles & keys will be available for almost every vehicle.  All vehicles & items sold at auction will be sold as-is, where-is, with no warrantees or guarantees, and any vehicle purchased from these auctions will be at the risk of the buyer.
  2. Neither Metro Louisville Government nor the Auction Company will be responsible for accidents and all parties entering the impound facility does so at their own free will and personal risk. 
  3. Bid numbers will be issued from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM on the day of auction.
  4. A current valid identification must be presented at time of bidder registration in order to obtain a bidder’s number.  Without exception all purchases must be paid in full on the day of auction.  Purchase receipts will be ready immediately after the auction unless announced differently. 
  5. Payments will be made to Metro Louisville Government and not to the Auction Company.  Full payments plus appropriate sales tax when required, will be accepted in the form of cash, certified checks or local (Louisville banks) company checks only.  
  6. All purchases must be paid for in full before vehicles or items removed from the impound lot and the receipt must be available for review upon request by impound lot personnel. Dealers will need to bring a copy of their dealer's certificate, all other buyers will need to have titles/ownership transferred on vehicles before the vehicles will be released from the auction location.
  7.  All vehicles/purchases should be removed from the impound facility before 5:00 PM on Thursday after the auction. 
  8. At the close of bidding, buyers are responsible for protecting their merchandise from damage or theft.  Metro Government and or the Auction Company assume no responsibility for any loss or damage.
  9. No work is to be done on any vehicle while on Metro Property.
  10. No alcohol, illegal drugs or weapons of any kind are allowed on the lot.
  11. No dumping of trash, tires or car parts, anyone caught dumping will be barred from the lot.
  12. No one allowed on the lot after dark.
  13. No one under 18 is allowed on the lot.
  14. Any bidder who does no pay for their bids will be excluded from the auction for 12 months.
  15. All vehicles are sold, as-is, where-is, with no warranty, no refunds, no exchanges, some vehicles may not have titles, and some vehicles may be sold for scrap or salvage only.  Additional terms may be announced at time of auction.

WITHOUT EXCEPTION; ALL VEHICLES WILL BE SOLD, AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH NO WARRANTY, NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES, ALL VEHICLES PURCHASED WILL BE BOUGHT SOLELY AT THE RISK OF THE BUYER.
